About
The plantar fascia is a band of tissue, called fascia, that connects our heel bones to the base of our toes. It supports the arch of the foot and absorbs shock when walking and running. Overuse and strain to the arch as the foot flexes can create inflammation and small tears in the plantar fascia that lead to pain. This is called plantar fasciitis and it is one of the most common injuries associated with plantar flexion, particularly in runners or other high-impact sports that involve plantar flexion, such as ballet. Do this exercise to release the post-running or dance training tension off your feet.
